My Resting Place~20 March 2015

Remembrance

Teach my soul Your Wisdom Lord
And make me rich indeed
Not of silver nor of gold,
Ill-gotten gain by greed.

Not by power
nor by might,
But in Your Spirit dwell.

And may my tongue
rest in Your Peace
My actions, thoughts as well.

My feet with joy to walk O Lord
Along Your Holy Way
My spirit’s joy redeeming time,
Just living day by day.

Though I am poor in this world
Nor fame or fortune have.
Yet in Your hand I shall remain

A Call To Prayer

Shalom Dear Friends,

Fear not, thou worm Jacob…I will make you a threshing instrument with teeth…Isaiah 41: 14,15.

We are calling for you to raise prayer and alert all who will listen to do the same. Israel’s National Election is in two days, on 17 March 2015.

We know there is a huge battle for Israel’s future looming on the horizon, even with dire consequences. During this election campaign, we are shocked at the river of vitriol against Prime Minister Benjamin (Bibi) Netanyahu and his wife Sarah. The volume and persistence of pernicious lies, against them both tells us a hidden truth. Dark powers are at work to defeat this decent leader and his Likud party. Men with ulterior motives and questionable scruples vie for leadership over Israel’s future security and national interests.

“Anyone but Bibi” has been the cry of center-left parties during the entire campaign.

This past week, Israel has once again seen violence and death. Two young men died when a Hezbollah cell launched six anti-tank missiles towards the convoy they were in. Three of the missiles hit the unarmored vehicles and one hit a house in the nearby village of Ghajar.
The first missile was a direct hit which instantly killed Captain Yohai Kalangel, 25, and Sergeant Dor Nini, 20. Two others vehicles were damaged, and seven additional soldiers were wounded in the attack. The UN has reported the death of a Spanish Peace Keeper that occurred during the shelling that took place in the aftermath.
During the first funeral this afternoon on Mount Herzl in Jerusalem, the father of Yohai Kalengel stated:
“Where you should have buried me, I bury you.”

There are no words to describe the pain of a parent who must bury a beloved child. There are no answers for the ongoing hatred. Israel, and the Jewish people as a whole are under attack~this is nothing new.

The thing that hath been, it is that which shall be; and that which is done is that which shall be done:
and there is no new thing under the sun…Ecclesiastes 1:9 (KJV)

Our only rest is in The Lord~He Alone Can Ease The Pain~We must Seek His Face…

Seek Thy Face

Seek Thy Face
Seek Thy Face
Our lives are but a hands breadth wide,
We live as like the morning mist
Then set the world aside.

Early shall I seek you Lord
And late upon my bed
No rest for me or comfort shall I find
A place to rest my head.

Seek Thy Face
Seek Thy Face

That Still Small Voice
Is calling me.
Every day and evening
The living way your showing me.

I Seek Thy Face
I Seek Thy Face

Do not be timid and don’t be shy
Look up and smile for He is Watching
My only answer

Here Am I

Introduction to “Poems From the Pilgrims Path”

No Illustrations on these pages will you find;
But only pictures you imagine painted there.
The strokes were words
Brushed upon the canvas of your mind.

As wonderful the natural world and all creation be,
the hidden things that are not seen

but we perceive as real
Your eye may never see.

You have the power to create,
From conversation and conceptions ruminate.

From questions quest, to safely arrive
At some conclusion there at journeys end.

May it find you there, satisfied, my friend.

An Appeal…

Thanks to the wisdom and understanding of the Spirit of God, my precious family and your giving we have championed Israel’s historic and Biblical cause in the media. By God’s grace we have regularly given “biblical reports” based on the instruction of the “Still Small Voice” when in 1969 He said to us,

1]  “If you love Me…love My people!”;  and

2]  “Declare among the nations, lift up a banner and publish and  proclaim. Do not conceal but broadcast it far and wide!”…Jeremiah 50:2a
For forty four years we have worked to be faithful to His instructions. Today the future of our work is seriously threatened by lack of finances. Although support has dropped off yearly, we continued by cutting back on all costs. Now there is nothing left to cut back.

To continue we must, either have more income from our faithful partners or have more partners. It is as simple as that. We normally receive sizable funding, but this year it did not materialize. For the past quarter, I have struggled to pay costs as well as basic salaries and back bills for 2013, but we have reached an impasse. To continue must have a major infusion of funds.

As our beloved partners I hesitate to ask you for more help but when I asked the Lord about it in prayer, He said:

“You have not because you ask not!!…James 4:2b

Now I am asking You to Please join us in Prayer for this shortfall to be met. You can partner with us in our work by using our PayPal button above ~OR~ request that we make a direct debit to your credit card ~OR~ send cheques to:

An Appeal from Jay Rawlings

A Walk Through Our Valley in Israel…

Israel is a tiny country but it is filled with wonders, from the arid desert to the snowy mountains, and the lush welcoming valleys.
The best way to see and appreciate the Wonders of God’s Creation is to “walk the land”. The Jewish Talmud says that “one who walks four cubits (1.8 meters) in the Land of Israel will merit a portion in the world to come.” When one is privileged to be in Israel it is easy to see why the sages made this statement!
This year, on Tisha B’Av, Jay and Meridel did just that. On the Jewish Calendar the 9th of Av, or Tisha B’Av (15-16 July 2013) is known as the saddest day of the year for Jews. The list of tragedies is long, beginning with the Sin of the Spies. The destruction of the First and Second temples, and the fall of Beitar (the last fort to hold off the Romans), during the Bar Kockba Revolt were also added to the day. Later in 1492, King Ferdinand of Spain ordered the expulsion of the Jews, wtih Tisha B’av being the last day Jews would be allowed to walk on Spanish soil. Later, WWI, which eventually led to the Holocaust began on  (you guessed it) Tisha B’Av. Jump to 1942~on the eve of Tisha B’av~the Germans began mass deportations from the Warsaw Ghetto to Treblinka. Even as recent as 2005, we watched as 10,000 Jews of Gush Katif were expelled from their homes, and their towns were bulldozed to the ground. The next day, members of the terror group Hamas moved in and began firing rockets into Israel…and the people mourned on Tisha B’Av.

It is no wonder that people in Israel fast, mourn and reflect. They also spend time walking the land, amongst the lush growth, allowing the “Land of God” to bring them peace and regeneration.

Jay and Meridel are blessed to live on the edge of a beautiful Valley. With cameras in hand they took a walk, to find “peace” in the valley. Join them in their walk, and share a portion in the world to come…
