Messiah!

Page-1-Image-5What is the question each living person needs to ask?

“Who are you LORD?”

What was the unexpected answer heard by a blind and bewildered, Saul, later called Paul, set on his course to murder ‘believers of The Way’ in Damascus?:

“I am Jesus!” was the answer.

This was the begining of a transformation that made Paul perhaps the greatest Apostle in history.

Today our world is bankrupt. Manipulative government  leaders seem powerless to stop the wars, which create havoc in millions of lives. People of faith believe that the only hope is the coming of the Prince of Peace, The Messiah.

Remembrance

Teach my soul Your Wisdom Lord
And make me rich indeed
Not of silver nor of gold,
Ill-gotten gain by greed.

Not by power
nor by might,
But in Your Spirit dwell.

And may my tongue
rest in Your Peace
My actions, thoughts as well.

My feet with joy to walk O Lord
Along Your Holy Way
My spirit’s joy redeeming time,
Just living day by day.

Though I am poor in this world
Nor fame or fortune have.
Yet in Your hand I shall remain

Introduction to “Poems From the Pilgrims Path”

No Illustrations on these pages will you find;
But only pictures you imagine painted there.
The strokes were words
Brushed upon the canvas of your mind.

As wonderful the natural world and all creation be,
the hidden things that are not seen

but we perceive as real
Your eye may never see.

You have the power to create,
From conversation and conceptions ruminate.

From questions quest, to safely arrive
At some conclusion there at journeys end.

May it find you there, satisfied, my friend.

Once again it seems that rockets and mortars are flying into Israel from Gaza. So much for the cease fire!

While missiles have also found their way from Syria to the Golan in the North of Israel, the IDF is there and on the alert. In an interesting item the Syrian ambassador stated on Tuesday:

“Syrian rebels linked to Al-Qaeda have seized UN weapons, uniforms and vehicles from peacekeepers in the Golan and set up a “safe zone” to wage attacks. The United Nations on Monday was forced to pull back hundreds of peacekeepers …after Syrian rebels advanced on their positions”

Please Note: The UN troops have taken refuge~In Israel!

Does anyone see the irony in this?

No matter. Today (Thursday) in Israel, is the last day of the work week. For us, tomorrow evening is the beginning of  Shabbat. Many in North America toast TGIF~Thank God It’s Friday. In Israel we say:
“Thank You Hashem for Giving Us The Shabbat!
Shabbat Shalom From Israel!

Even Though

Oh Lord
What can I say?
For thou knowest
That I am empty.

Yet what can I Do?

For I am as Dust
At the mercy of the wind.

Oh Lord!
Even though it’s come to this
You still love me.

We Shall Not
We shall not want the things we see
The world’s way , enticing me.

We have a shepherd he keeps us safe,
Our every prayer, before His face:
Renews our hope and all our rest
To walk the path He chose the best.
His hand to guide we want no less.
Do all we can enjoy our walk
The Great I Am is all we’ve got.
We shall not want the things we see
The worlds’ way enticing me

Even Song

The evening breezes,
Whispering trees, murmuring wind.

Meadow grasses rise and roll.

In waves the rolling clouds fly past,
As meadow larks sing their last
In gentle twilight glow.

To end their day in song
Softly fades the tune away
In Darkness.
                  Still.
                                             Then gone.

Pilgrims’ Path

With my staff to share my load
My quest, is my constant goad

And joy my Pilgrims’ Path.

Though sometimes I feel faint,
I look forward with all joy to rest.
A higher calling than my flesh
That earthly ear can hear,
Is ever calling to me with love
To draw closer, draws me near.

Closer still by this path, pilgrim weary worn
A path my flesh would have chosen last,

Nor turning back if eye can only see
The next step ahead with certain clarity.

I have learned to trust the loving whisper.
Courage friend, for I am near
Even down life’s troubled path
Even through your troubled years.

Right dowh to the trails end
And even beyond your earthly cares,
Still, I am with you friend.

The Hills of Benjamin (Click Picture to Enlarge)

For the past weeks we have been inundated with an array of emotions. People have felt sorrow, anger, hate, fear, hopelessness, mistrust, and on and on.

War~and we are in a war~is an ugly thing. It robs us of our loved ones, our lives, our humanity. In reality there can be no true winners because everyone suffers, everyone loses someone or something dear to them, things that will never be replaced.

What can be done?

What can be said?

Everything and nothing…

Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding.
In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths…Proverbs 3:5-6 (KJV)

For the Lord shall comfort Zion: He will comfort all her waste places;
and He will make her wilderness like Eden, and her desert like the garden of the Lord;
joy and gladness shall be found therein, thanksgiving, and the voice of melody….Isaiah 51:3 (KJV)

No matter where in the world you are, and especially here in Israel, these words ring true and those with faith (and even those who claim to have none) can hold on to them, because God knows what the outcome will be, and for those who trust and believe in Him~well, we also know how it ends…
My Heart
 My heart does ache,
Please Dear Lord do not forsake.
Lest my should perish because of pride,
Oh dear Lord in me abide.
Search me Lord I cannot hide.
You know my ways and my thoughts,
In the end when day is done.
Forgive me Lord what I’ve left undone.
All the things I should’ve done,
All the things I meant to do.
Lord forgive me it’s all too true,
I’ve been weak obeying you.
